Dungeons & Dragons: Dungeon Club
Middle school is a dungeon… At least, that’s how Jess sees it. Luckily, she and her best friend Olivia know how to escape into the sprawling worlds of their own imaginations. The two friends have always loved making up stories, first with little kid games of make-believe, and more recently with the fantasy roleplaying game, Dungeons & Dragons.
Molly Knox Ostertag
All the stand alone books (and very short series) by Molly Knox Ostertag, an American graphic novelist, writer, and illustrator known for creating heartfelt, inclusive stories that blend fantasy with themes of identity and belonging. She is the author of The Witch Boy trilogy, which explores magic, family, and self-discovery, and has also written acclaimed works like The Girl from the Sea. In addition to her graphic novels, Ostertag has contributed as a writer to the animated series The Owl House. Her work is celebrated for its rich storytelling, LGBTQ+ representation, and ability to connect with readers of all ages.
Sara Soler's Comics
This is not really a "series" but... I am treating her work as one. Sara Soler studied graphic arts at Escola Joso, and won in 2017 the Carnet Jove “Connecta’t al Còmic” scholarship, which launched her debut solo work, Red & Blue. Since then, she has collaborated with both Spanish and international publishers. Her personal fanzine Us, which addresses her partner's gender transition, earned numerous awards. Recently, she illustrated the miniseries Season of the Bruja in 2022 and contributed to DC Comics’ DC Pride 2025 anthology. In addition to her prolific creative work, Soler teaches comic art at Escola Joso and continues to develop projects across Spain and the U.S.

It depicts a husband and wife, Alana and Marko, from long-warring extraterrestrial races, fleeing authorities from both sides of a galactic war as they struggle to care for their daughter, Hazel, who is born in the beginning of the series and who occasionally narrates the series as an unseen adult.
